The Pat McGann Gallery, opened in 1993, is located in the heart of the Los Angeles design community on N. La Cienega Blvd. Owner Pat McGann's specialty is textiles, old and new, but she is known for a singular flair that brings together modern, ethnic and the downright quirky into a vibrant yet harmonious whole.
Pat has a distinctive eye developed on her frequent travels. First going to India in the 70s, she fell in love with fabrics and color. While living in London for more than a decade, her attention turned to the antique rugs and textiles she learned to restore there. The bold graphics of Mexico, another frequent destination, are an ongoing inspiration.
At the gallery a visitor might find a modernist Japanese screen, 19th C. Moroccan Fez pillows, a set of Louis XVI chairs, vintage Indian dhurries, and a Mexican scorpion fruit bowl all sitting happily side by side and brought together with inimitable flair.
